We realize that summer schedules are all over the place with vacations, baseball, soccer, football, etc, but that’s the great thing about scouts. You don’t have to make it to every meeting or event to be a part of the Pack. Your scout can move at his own pace. And as long as he learns and remembers the Cub Scout motto, “Do Your Best”, he will succeed at being a Cub Scout.
Cub Scouting is a year round activity and to start in the summer is a great way to see what scouting is all about, Fun with a Purpose, for very little cost. There is only the registration fee of $15 to be paid at this time. This fee covers insurance and administrative costs for the National Boy Scouts of America. There might be additional costs associated with a couple of our summer events, but it typically revolves around food cost and is usually very minimal (less than $5).
During the summer we do everything as a Pack, typically on a Monday night or Saturday. When fall rolls around, and school starts again, we begin our normal schedule. This includes meetings on Monday nights at 7pm and typically a field trip once a month. The only difference during the normal schedule is that we meet only meet as a Pack on the fourth Monday of each month.
